Sora is a fully-accredited, full-time middle school and high school program. Our curriculum takes shape in two parts: the learning expeditions and the independent projects.
We believe school should nurture students’ natural curiosity about the world around them, fully engaging their critical thinking skills in order to think through practical projects of their own choosing.
Choose from a variety of admissions events to see and experience what Sora is all about.
“Sora’s energy is doing a project on something you know nothing about and then getting really into it.”
“They really challenge Cade to learn new things, pushing his boundaries.”
Students design their own curriculum with the help of supportive academic advisors.
At Sora, students work with our teachers to design and create hands-on projects based on what they’re interested in learning–anything from computer science to 18th century Victorian fashion. Teachers help students scope their projects and incorporate academic standards from math, science, English, history, and more.
We follow a learning model where our teachers serve to challenge students, structure individual curriculum plans, and facilitate their learning, not deliver boring lectures. Because we give the students autonomy and voice in their learning, they are more engaged and have better academic outcomes.
