In this expedition, you’ll select a new hobby or skill to master, harnessing the power of a growth mindset and the concept of "failing forward".

As you journey towards proficiency, you'll investigate the potential health benefits that your chosen physical hobby can offer. Armed with your curiosity and the scientific method, you'll devise an experiment to gauge and analyze the impact of your hobby on your health.

The grand finale of this project will be a creatively crafted video compilation, where you'll showcase your adventurous foray into new hobbies and health experiments as part of our Sora Healthy Hobbies Fair. This video will serve as a testament to your resilience, your learning curve, your scientific explorations, and your growth in embracing physical fitness through enjoyable hobbies.

Students will have the opportunity to earn additional units, including (but not limited to) related Anatomy and Physiology units.

Essential Questions

How does physical activity impact the overall health of a person? What actions can be taken to support my physical fitness? Why is it important to practice physical fitness throughout our lives? Is failure always a bad thing? What is a “beginner's mind", and how can this approach to learning be beneficial? How can a scientific investigation be used to answer questions about our health? What lessons can we articulate from the process of learning a new skill?
