The school for builders, dreamers & doers.

Sora Schools is the project-based middle and high school that helps students soar. Our innovative curriculum takes online school from sitting-behind-your-desk school and turns it into an engaging experience for each student’s unique needs.

Sora’s full-time, fully accredited program is comprised of creative lessons (like “The Science of Marvel,” “Engineering Rollercoasters,” and “Philosophy, Logic, and the Art of Argumentation”) and self-directed independent assignments that lead students to tackle questions with real-world applications.

“We’ve had a tremendous experience and I’ve been nothing but impressed with Sora’s teachers and advisors.”

CHRIS, Sora Parent

Students design their own curriculum with the help of supportive academic counselors. As students progress through their projects, they regularly meet with faculty to discuss, troubleshoot, and guide them towards their end deliverables.

Real-World Learning Expeditions

Instead of lectures, these learning expeditions are socratic discussions, projects, labs, and other active learning formats.

Mastery-Based Transcript

Our program produces a mastery-based transcript for colleges and other institutions of higher education. This also helps students draw a clear path of their journey, adding context and color to their decisions.

How our program works

At Sora, students work with our teachers to design and create hands-on projects based on what they’re interested in learning–anything from computer science to 18th century Victorian fashion. Teachers help students scope their projects and incorporate academic standards from Math, Science, English, History, and more.

We follow a learning model where our teachers serve to challenge students, structure individual curriculum plans, and facilitate their learning, not deliver boring lectures. Because we give the students autonomy and voice in their learning, they are more engaged and have better academic outcomes.
