Tide Predictions: Bay of Fundy

By Arthur L.

In the Expedition “Making Waves: The Tides They Are Changing,” we were tasked with choosing a coastal town, examining how tides impact human and animal lives, and learning about the moon’s orbit that affects these tidal movements. Using circles, parabolas, and trigonometry, we translated tidal patterns into mathematical models and produced an informative video for our chosen community.

I created a 6-minute video explaining my chosen location, the Bay of Fundy, between the Canadian provinces of New Brunswick and Nova Scotia, how sine and cosine waves work, and the process I used to predict the tides.
