Homeschool Reporting Guide

By Sora Schools

Sora offers an engaging, fully-online, curriculum for our middle school and high school programs. We are accredited by Cognia and WASC. While some states have little to no reporting requirements for students engaged in virtual, accredited programs like Sora, others require families to file reports and forms similar to those who are participating in parent-led homeschool programs.

This Homeschool Reporting Guide will serve as a general resource for Sora families who want more information about homeschool reporting. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to submit any state-specified required homeschool reporting items on time, in order to remain in compliance with homeschooling regulations and applicable compulsory attendance laws.

Please reference the Department of Education website for your state to review requirements and deadlines, and download any forms (if applicable) you will need to submit. Required forms may also be available from your local public school district. Many states require affidavits or letters of intent to homeschool, record keeping of attendance, maintaining a portfolio of your student’s work and progress, and being able to follow annual procedures to continue homeschooling.

Disclaimer: The guide is created as a resource for families enrolling at Sora Schools. This is for informational purposes only. Please keep in mind that this is simply a guide, state requirements may change from time to time, and you as the enrolling family are responsible for meeting state requirements.
