Garrett Smiley is the founder of Sora Schools, a fully accredited online school serving 6th–12th graders with a unique, personalized approach to education. Sora’s project-based learning model is built around innovation and interdisciplinary studies, offering students the freedom to explore their passions in a flexible and self-directed environment. Ted Dintersmith – Author, Advocate for Innovation in Education
Ted Dintersmith's films, books, and philanthropy focus on the urgency of reimagining school to keep pace with the tsunami of innovation reshaping society. He founded WhatSchoolCouldBe.org to catalyze progress in schools across America and around the globe. His professional career centered on innovation, including being ranked as the top-performing U.S. venture capitalist for the years 1995-1999. In 2012, he was appointed by President Obama to represent the U.S. at the United Nations General Assembly. In 2018, he received the prestigious NEA Friend of Education Award. He holds a PhD in Engineering from Stanford, and a B.A. degree from the College of William & Mary with High Honors in Physics and English.
