Students deserve better
Students should be in the driver's seat of their education, learning in order to answer the questions they care about

Everyone deserves a world-class, future-focused education, not just the 0.1% with access today.
Most schools enforce a standard set of courses, with a few "electives" sprinkled at the end of their program. This industrialized approach may efficiently teach the skills needed for 19th-century factory work, but it's insufficient for our global knowledge economy.
At Sora, we believe students should own their education; we've flipped the curriculum and scheduling process to allow students to choose their learning experiences based on their interests.
Our rigorous graduation requirements prepare students for any path after Sora, from the most competitive universities to internships and work placements. Our advisors and cutting-edge software help students conquer these requirements while leading from their curiosity.

Our faculty design cross-disciplinary expeditions, which combine ideas and skills from multiple subject areas into real-world projects. Students choose from over 400 learning experiences with world-class faculty ready to make school relevant (and fun) again.
Sora faculty are truly the best-in-class because we believe a world-class school starts with a world-class faculty. We spend thousands of hours every year scouring the globe to find the best teachers; in fact, less than 1% of the faculty who apply are accepted to be Sora Experts.
At Sora, we believe that while memorization still has a place in learning, its power has been significantly weakened by the internet. Previously, skilled labor was driven by knowledgeable individuals recalling the proper facts or equations for the problem at hand; now, however, the most important skills include fully understanding the context of the problem, asking the right questions, and locating credible sources of information to answer them. The ethos of a liberal arts education—teaching students how to think—has never been more relevant.
Inquiry-based learning empowers students to ask questions and investigate real-world problems. We believe education should inspire students to be curious about the world we share. Inquiry-based learning directly answers the most common question in any school: "Why do I need to learn this?"
