Applications are now open for our December 2026, March 2027 and August 2027 start dates. We will review applications on a rolling basis in the order we receive them.
Next Steps
There are several ways to continue your Sora journey. Whether you’re just beginning to explore or ready to apply, choose the next step that’s right for your family.
1. Get to Know Sora
Our virtual events give students and parents different ways to experience Sora, meet our community, and get their questions answered.

Virtual Info Session (Recommended)
45 minutes | Parent + Student
Get an inside look at Sora’s collaborative, project-based learning experience. We’ll walk through what a typical week looks like, tuition, and the admissions process, with time for questions along the way.

Discovery Day
2 hours, 30 minutes | Student only
Experience what it feels like to be a Sora student. Join faculty and current students for live classes and experience the energy of a school where learning and community are a big part of the week. Immediately following the event, parents will have the opportunity to connect.

Coffee with Leadership
45 minutes | Parent only
Join our school leaders for a casual conversation about why Sora gives students more choice in their learning, how we support students through daily House and faculty relationships, and how we create a strong sense of belonging in an online school.
2. Still Have Questions?
Admissions Q&A Call | 15 minutes
Have a question specific to your family or student? Schedule a quick 15-minute follow up call with our Admissions Team to talk through anything that wasn’t covered during our events or to get additional guidance as you consider your next steps.

3. Ready to Apply?
Applications are now open for December 2026, March 2027, and August 2027.
Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, in the order they are completed. You don’t need to attend every event before applying. If Sora feels like the right fit for your student, you can get started whenever you’re ready.
Here’s what you’ll need to complete your application:
- Application Fee: A $50 application fee is required. If your student is offered admission and enrolls, the fee will be applied toward tuition.
- Parent/Guardian Application: Share background information about your student and family.
- Student Application: Your student will tell us more about their academic background, interests, and critical thinking skills.
- Academic Records: Upload unofficial academic records from the past 1–2 years.
- Teacher Evaluation: An academic teacher who knows your student will provide insight into their academic and personal development.
- Additional Supplements (Optional): Families are welcome to submit additional materials that help us get to know their student, such as letters of recommendation, portfolio work, writing samples, or individualized learning plans. We also accept the SSAT and Character Skills Snapshot.
- Student Interview: A 30-minute Zoom conversation with a member of our Admissions Team, giving us an opportunity to get to know your student beyond their application.
- Flexible Tuition Application (Optional): Our need-based Flexible Tuition program helps make Sora accessible to more families. If you’d like to be considered for an award, you can apply as part of the admissions process. Note: There is a $65 fee to apply.
4. Admissions Decision
Once your student’s application is complete, it will be carefully reviewed by our Admissions Committee, taking into consideration everything your family and student have shared throughout the process.
Families can typically expect an admissions decision within two weeks of completing their application file.
