A look at Sora’s flexible schedule

2 schedule options
Sora has 3 hours and 20 minutes of live classes and office hours on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Your family can choose from two flexible time blocks to fit your schedule (or mix and match for even more flexibility).

Weekly community day
Wednesdays are our community-building day. Instead of classes, it is filled with club meetups, all-school meetings, and other fun activities. It’s also a great time to catch up on projects or connect with your teachers 1:1.

Daily time with advisor
Similar to a home room, students at Sora get grouped into Houses that meet throughout the school year. These houses meet daily with their faculty advisor to check in on academic progress and build valuable friendships.
Rated the top project-based online school
Parent SORA has been great for my teen who attended private school for his entire life. We transferred to Sora sophomore year and he's now a rising senior getting ready for college applications. The pedagogy at Sora is what really sold us. The classes allow my kiddo to express his learning through his passions -- a math final through video game design - a history final through original jazz piano composition -- this type of instruction gave my child a renewed sense of agency and engagement in the topic of study. And, as a parent who works from home, it allows us more time together to focus on his mental health and well-being. I wouldn't trade it for anything.
Parent After middle school, our family needed a change of education strategy for my son. We will in a college town with highly graded public and private schools; but I was concerned the structures were not providing the support and guidance my son needed. As a child of 2 public school teachers; it never occurred to me to consider an online school until I found Sora. The first time I read out Sora's education philosophy, strategy, and structure to him my son said "I want to do that!". So starting in 9th grade we took the leap of faith and started with Sora. From the beginning I knew it was the right environment for my son; he had responsibility for his work but he also had agency over how he demonstrated mastery of the learning objectives. The teachers/experts are dedicated and above all interested in my son as a person and in building him up as a person and a learner. He just finished 10th grade with Sora and we are looking forward to being a future alumni in 2 years.
Student My experience with Sora has been nothing but positive. For an online environment, it is truly impressive how much I feel socially connected with others, which often isn't the case in virtual settings. I believe Sora has provided me with so many opportunities that enhanced my educational experience and shaped parts of my character. This school may surprise you with how much it offers, and from an academic perspective, I have been very satisfied.
