We have a robust orientation process for all new students and their families to understand how to excel in our unique program. This includes a series of informative workshops, guided Expedition request list planning with your student’s advisor, and icebreaker events for students to bond with their new housemates.

Physical Supplies
To ensure a successful school year, we request that families ensure that their students have access to the items listed in the relevant Sora Schools Materials Starter Pack as well as access to basic household items like pens and pencils, colored pencils, notebooks or loose-leaf paper, camera, scanner app, and other general supplies.
Sora Schools Materials Starter Packs are tailored to a student’s specific campus — Middle School Materials Starter Pack or High School Materials Starter Pack. While some expeditions may suggest extra optional supplies to enrich the learning experience, these are not mandatory.
Families are encouraged to get materials either all at once or on an as-needed basis, whichever works best for your family. Our materials lists are recommendations and so if you feel that you already have supplies that are similar, there’s no need to buy duplicates.

Many of our learning experiences require books. Sora purchases digital titles via Overdrive. Students will receive additional login information and instructions on accessing titles during expedition sessions.
