Faculty

Collaborators in guiding students on transformative paths of intellectual exploration

The best faculty in the country

Sora has some of the best faculty in the country who work with our students to deliver all of the amazing learning experiences our curriculum offers. In fact, we are proud that there are so many educators that want to teach at Sora, that historically only 1% of applicants for our teaching positions are offered the opportunity.

When we select faculty, we look for educators who have excelled at driving students to new heights and who have demonstrated a commitment to their open lifelong learning. We value faculty who not only have extensive and diverse backgrounds in teaching and learning but experience applying learning and knowledge to real-world projects, just as we hope our students will do.

My favorite thing about Sora students is that they’re not only intellectually curious, they’re also intellectually generous. I’m constantly inspired by how willing they are to share project ideas, creations, and feedback with the community in order to build and iterate on a collective learning space.

We accept less than 1% of applications for faculty roles—that’s more competitive than any Ivy League.

Meaning-based teaching experience

Our world-class faculty possess interdisciplinary and meaning-based teaching experience and go through an in-depth and thorough onboarding and training process so they can provide the most innovative, relevant, and student-centered learning experience.

I love working with Sora students because the creative care and innovation that I see them display each day give me hope for a better future. They consistently manage to make me laugh and bring me so much joy. I could never imagine not loving this job!
